Xbox Jasper Solution from Questions Answers : The Jasper Chip as far as I know just makes the 360 run a little cooler and its supposed to prevent the red ring of death. Only the newest consoles come with it. I've had a 360 since the day it came out and I got the RRoD about a year ago. I sent it to Microsoft and they sent me a brand new one. So really, not having a chip, wasn't that big of a deal. There are many questions that usually asked by peoples about this xbox jasper. we want to try show you about those questions and also the answers. hope these usefull for you :

Do they have the "Jasper" version of elite in stores yet?
From what I understand currently the Arcade is the only Jasper varient out there, but they could have started production on Pro & Elites.

What's the difference between Jasper Pro vs Elite?
Jaspers have the new intergrated 256mb flash memory (basically a internal memory card) so people can update there 360's and save games. They also contain the 65nm CPU and GPU which means less power consumption, less heat and a slightly less chance of getting the Red Ring of Death so M$ say.

I'm connecting my xbox to my monitor using component cables which I know can do 1080i. I also have the Z-5500 5.1 audio system, how do I connect the audio to the xbox using a TOSLINK cable? I know the elite has special component cable with a "toslink" audio port. I'm not sure if the Pro has that same cable with the port.
I've never used that cable when I had my old Pro system.

Does the jasper produce less heat and noise? I had a falcon elite before and it produced alot of noise and some heat.
See answer to no.2 you'll get less noise now that games can be installed to the HDD only thing is you still need the original disc in the drive it will spin up to confirm the disc and thats it.

Should I get a jasper pro or a falcon elite (if they dont have jasper elite)?
I'd go with the Jasper to be honest less power, less heat, & slighlty less chance of RRoD then maybe buy a 120GB if needed.

How do you identify a jasper from the box?
if it has a 12.1v rail on it your good to go according to that link.

Xbox Live Setup

Xbox Live Setup : In this guide we will go through all the required steps for Xbox live connection.
Step 1.
First of all, we need to make sure the DIR-xxx has internet connection and it has a public IP
address on its WAN interface. Open an internet browser window, type http://192.168.0.1 in the
address line and hit enter. The default username is ‘admin’ (without quote).
Default password is blank (nothing).

Click ‘STATUS’ tab on the top.
Under ‘WAN’ section, you can see the WAN IP address of the DIR-router. Please kindly make
sure this address is NOT in the below ranges.
10.1.1.0 --10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 – 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0.-192.168.255.255
If the IP is NOT in the above ranges, please go to Step 2. If the IP is in the above ranges,
please set the modem to full bridge mode first.
If you have a D-Link modem such as DSL-502T, please kindly see appendix A for how to
configure bridge mode. If your modem is not D-Link, please kindly contact your Internet service
provider or the vendor of the modem and ask them show you how to set it to full bridge mode.
Then you need to go back to the web interface of the DIR router (http://192.168.0.1) and go to
[Setup] -> [Internet] -> [Manual Internet configuration] page. Please select PPPoE as your
internet connection. Please enter your internet username/password and select the ‘Reconnect
mode’ as ‘Always’ on. Please click ‘Save settings’ button when you finish.

Step 2
Config a static IP address on your Xbox 360.
Turn on your 360 and go to the dashboard. Once you are at the dashboard, go over to the
"System" Blade and select "Network Settings".
Under the "Network" Blade, we need to select "Edit Settings".

You will now be presented with the basic network settings for your 360. From here, you need
to highlight the first section labeled "IP Settings" and select it.
From this screen, choose "Manual".

Please use the IP address settings as below
• IP Address : 192.168.0.188
• Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
• Gateway : 192.168.0.1.
After you've entered all the settings, select done, and we'll move on to the DNS settings. After
selecting done, you'll be brought back to the basic settings menu. From here, you need to
highlight the "DNS Settings" section and select it. Please use the settings below.
Primary DNS server: 192.168.0.1 Secondary DNS server: 4.2.2.2
Select “done” when you finish.

Step 3
Click [Advanced] -> [Port Forwarding] and add two port forwarding rules. The first rule opens
both TCP and UDP port 3074 for your Xbox (192.168.0.188). The second rule opens UDP port
88. Click ‘Save settings’ button when you finish.

Appendix A
Open a new internet browser window and enter the IP address of the router (http://10.1.1.1).
Enter user name and password (default username “admin” and password is “admin”).

Click ‘WAN’ button on the left and choose ‘1483 Bridged IP LLC’ as the connection type. Click
‘Apply’ button on the bottom after you change the settings.

Now we need to save the settings.
To do that, go to [Tools] -> [System] page and click ‘Save and reboot’ button.

Red Lights on Xbox 360 - What the Mean | How to Fix : So I came home from work the other day looking forward to firing up my xbox 360 and enjoying some online gaming. Nothing like taking out some aliens to relieve some stress right? Gears of War 2 was already in the tray so I hit the power button and waited. Then the sinking feeling hit me. Around the power button I could see flashing red lights. Some of my buddies had told me about their xbox's experiencing the xbox 360 red lights of death, but I'd never seen it......until now. I frantically turned off the system and turned it back on, hoping to avoid the xbox 360 red lights flashing. No good. The red lights on the xbox 360 were blinking, taunting me in my quest to play. I turned off the system again and went to get a drink.

I wanted the thing fixed ASAP, but didn't know where to begin. That's when I started doing some research and calling a few friends who had the same problem. Some said they sent the system to Microsoft, but it took weeks and in the end they spent $140 to get it fixed....if Microsoft could fix it. I was disappointed. That's when a friend called me back and told me about a guide he found online to fix the xbox 360 red lights problem. He said it was called the Xbox 360 Fix Guide. He said he used the guide and had his xbox 360 up and running again in about an hour or so. The guide wasn't free, but for under $39 and the hope that it could help me fix my xbox in only an hour, I took a chance. I purchased the guide.

The guide was great. It diagnosed my issue and walked me through how to easily fix it. In a little over an hour after purchase, my xbox 360 red lights issue was no more! I was back online fragging alien and enjoying my xbox 360 again.

This happened a few months ago and I've not had any more problems with the xbox 360 red lights of death. For less than $30 and an hour of time, I was able to repair my xbox 360 thanks to the xbox 360 Fix Guide. Cheaper and faster than sending the system to Microsoft or having to buy a new system entirely. I've also helped repair a few friends who ran into the red lights of doom as well. None of the solutions involved wrapping the 360 in a towel either.

Xbox 360 External Hard Drive

Xbox 360 External Hard Drive : I recently upgraded to a new xbox 360 but it only has 4gb of memory. I was just wondering if I could get myself say a 250gb-500gb external hard drive and plug that in via usb and use that. Surely it would work right if formatted first. It's just so much cheaper to get myself a external hard drive rather than upgrading the xbox? And it would work for installing games from disc so that they run faster etc etc?

You're capped at using 32 gb of space on external devices if you use it for games data and such. its pretty sure that was in the last update. then just go get a couple of 32 gb flash drives and use those. to be honest 32gb is more than enough.

I recently got a Kinect! I love it, great exercise, tons of fun! Great for the whole family. On Thanksgiving we all played Kinect: Adventures!

It's a Pro/Con for either decision. But if your willing to spend the extra 100; then I would say go for it! However if that money is needed for Bills,Food,ext. Don't. Like you stated...you can always get a spare external hard drive as well. I have that and it works great and lots of space!

cons; less room, having to delete saved content more often.

250GB-----
Pros: Much more room, no worries of running out of space
Cons: Overpriced

If you are a gamer, and you will play a veriaty of games often...you will need more space. If you will play every once and awhile with your family...then dont worry so much on the space.
