To fix an xbox 360 with the 3 flashing red ligths : 1. Turn on your xbox 360 and check to see if the xbox is still occuring with the 3 flashing red light error. If it doesn't this procedure is incorrect.
2. Turn off the xbox 360 and pull out all component cables, hard drive, ethernet, usb ports, or any other cables that are connected to your xbox 360, except the power cable. The power cable must be left plugged in your xbox
3. Find (as recommended) 3 towels, or as many blankets or any other kind of blanket or towel material you can gather.
4. Wrap the towels (3 or as many as you have) around your xbox 360 with the power cable still plugged in, and lay it down flat. Make sure the towels are wrapped in as tight as possible
5. Turn on the xbox 360 and leave it running for at least 15-20 minutes. I recommend at least 20 minutes exact. Keep a fire extinguisher or a fire blanket aside from the xbox (Just in case!) you never know what will happen. I assure that nothing will happen. The point is to get your xbox really hot and heated up.
6. After 20 minutes or 15 minutes, you can shut down the xbox 360 and take off the towels. You can also plug back the hard drive or any other cables connnected to your xbox. I reccomend leaving the xbox off for a while in since it may be extremely hot because you have just shutted it off. Wait for at least 5 more minutes for it to cool back down
7. You may now turn your xbox 360 back on and a guaranteed repair will occur. Your xbox will start working!

This morning I performed the Hard Drive upgrade and am now the proud owner of a 200gb original Xbox. It was pretty easy although there were a few hurtles to jump. The video tutorial I followed suggested using two Xboxes the second being used to power the second hard drive but this gave me some trouble. Partway through the cloning process the second Xbox powered down. Luckily I had a hard drive enclosure on hand which was perfect for powering the new hard drive.

First thing you need to do is copy some files to your modded Xbox. Then open up the Xbox that you're going to want to upgrade. Once you've powered up and launched the upgrade program you'll want to remove the IDE cable off of the DVD rom and plug it into the new HDD then power it on. Then all you have to do is run the software. After you've cloned the drive you need to lock it and then you're good to go. Easy peazy. I'll be embedding the video tutorial I used. All in all once I got everything going right it only took about 20 minutes to peform the upgrade.

Xbox 360 Review : Initial observations are that it's slightly smaller than the original Xbox, and heavier. The huge power pack takes us back to the days of the Spectrum +3 - and then some! - and the controller is far better than it looked on paper.

After a solid weekend with the machine, several pros and cons emerge. We'd also managed, with consummate ease, to get the Xbox 360 connected to a network. We tried both wired and wireless connections and in both cases we were up, running and taking advantage of a shared broadband connection in little time at all.


And that sums the Xbox 360 up to an extent. The things it does well, it does exceptionally well. Its interface is clean, it's as simple as you'd expect to set up, and we even managed to buy and download a small game from Xbox Live Arcade in a matter of minutes. Smashing stuff. Sadly, our boxed review copy of Project Gotham Racing 3 exposed a flaw or two.
